A winch is a lifting and pulling tool designed to lift heavy loads without the need of the incredible Hulk. A rope or cable that is rolled and unrolled on a drum allows uploading and lowering loads. There are portable, fixed, manual, electric or hydraulic.
Electric lathe device
All existing electric variants of elevators, whether stationary or aggregate or portable, are built according to a principle and consist practically of the same components:
- The body of the electric hoist or winches carries all the main units and parts of the device. Usually, the body is made in the form of a powerful steel frame with compartments for winding the cable and the electric motor;
- Steel or composite rope with grip, hook or rigging;
- The cable winding unit is made in the form of a steel drum with a guide bar and a reduction gear. The use of the latter allows you to reduce the rotation force to an acceptable level;
- The drive of the hoist motor, most frequently an electric motor is used for 220 V in a domestic electrical network or a DC electric motor for 12 – 24 V;
- Remote control system
For information! Depending on the underlying purpose, electrical housing necessarily equipped with its special fastening, with which the portable structure can be mounted on a fixed base, such as in the arm construction elevators or in the vehicle frame.
The most stressed and worn part of the portable electric winch is a cable or rope. The most common manual and portable winch is a thin 5-6 mm diameter steel cable made from a large number of thin metal wires, rolled into one piece. A great effort, reaching in some cases a dozen tons, over time, disables individual threads. If the electric hoist cable does not replace it in time, there may be a break in the cable under the load and, as a result, the gear reduction of the unit.
The most common winches
The original purpose of the hoist as a hoist has changed drastically at present. A modern electric winch device is considered as an aggregate, by means of which it is possible to obtain a high tensile force, and the direction of the application of the forces does not play a special role. The most requested cable hoists were under construction, transport, and repair work and in domestic conditions.
Most of the nomenclature of lifting mechanisms and winches can be divided into four groups:
- Winches and construction elevators;
- Auxiliary industrial equipment;
- Wide-range electric traction winches;
- Transport lifts used as auto rescuers and repair equipment.
For information! The electric winch is widely used in service stations and warehouses of wholesale companies. To move goods and goods of a relatively small weight, up to 200 kg, to build a full-fledged crane is costly and economically useless, it is easier to use a powerful traction winch device or a frame hoist.
Universal electric winches for construction and loading works
Installation work and construction have become one of the areas of application where the devices and mechanisms of winch proved to be really indispensable. Even in large multi-story buildings construction projects have raised the issue of small batches of finishing materials, masonry, plumbing and auxiliary tools, weighing several hundred kilograms, is solved by a small electric winch mobile devices, elevators and blocks, mounted on a bypass crossing.
Winches and elevators are used in transportation in two ways: as rescuers and carrying out loading and unloading operations. In the first case, the actuation of the winch can be carried out either with the help of a power take-off system from the engine transfer case, or in the form of a self-contained device powered by a car battery.
The simple and unpretentious design of the winch made it not only reliable, but also durable. The average life of the best electric winches is 10 years for the gearbox and the drive motor. Unlike hydraulic systems, there are practically no nodes in the electric winch that must be checked or modified periodically, such as consumables. At the same time, the electric drive makes the device an order of magnitude more secure than a winch, a mechanical or manual circuit.
